the UK Department for International Development (DFID), which is now part of the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO): Nigeria Stability and Reconciliation Programme (NSRP)
We provided comprehensive media monitoring services to the Nigeria Stability and Reconciliation Programme (NSRP), a major peacebuilding initiative implemented by the British Council aimed at reducing conflict and strengthening stability in Nigeria through conflict-sensitive communication and inclusive public engagement. Over a period of more than three years, our work focused on systematically tracking, analyzing, and reporting media coverage related to conflict, peacebuilding, and programme activities across radio, television, print, and digital platforms. We generated robust data to assess both the quantity and quality of reporting by partner media organizations, with particular emphasis on the adoption of conflict-sensitive approaches and audience-driven programming. Our services included media content analysis, development and application of structured scorecards, monitoring of audience engagement across Print and Electronic media (Radio) channels, and production of periodic analytical reports to inform programme strategy and decision-making. Through this work, we contributed to strengthening evidence-based communication, enhancing media accountability, and supporting NSRP’s broader objective of promoting informed dialogue, reducing impunity, and amplifying the voices of marginalized populations in peace and governance processes.
